What is Full Fibre broadband?

Simply put, fibre is a piece of glass that can deliver broadband at the fastest available speeds. Unlike some providers, we build our own fibre optic network, with a dedicated fibre cable to every home and business – otherwise known as real Full Fibre broadband.

With a dedicated fibre line, direct to the router in your property, your connection is more secure and immune to interference (meaning faster, more reliable broadband!).

There are two kinds of fibre connection; Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC) and Fibre to the Premises (FTTP). Here at Grain, we build an exclusively Full Fibre network, and install only FTTP.

Our broadband network is designed with the future in mind. Not only do we offer Fibre-to-the-Premises, but our Point-to-Point (PTP) architecture means each and every home or business gets their own dedicated fibre-optic cable – straight into the router!

While some providers offer something called Passive Optical Network (PON), which splits a single fibre between multiple properties, our approach guarantees a superior broadband experience for each connected customer.

Full Fibre can deliver over 1,000 times as much bandwidth as copper and can travel more than 100 times further too! Full Fibre is also replacing old copper phones lines, which means you can benefit from a crystal clear sound and an uninterrupted connection.
