Grain donates £2000 to Thornaby Football Club
Thornaby Football Club faced a devastating setback when their facilities were tragically destroyed in an arson attack. The club now need to raise donations totalling £35,000, to cover the extensive damage caused to their facilities.
Here at Grain, we have been working within the local community for several months to build our Full Fibre broadband infrastructure. We are extremely saddened to hear the news and know that this is a big blow for Thornaby.
Our donation of £2000 means the total funds raised for Thornaby FC’s rebuilding efforts has now reached an impressive £15,008, with each contribution taking strides towards restoring the club. We take pride in supporting great causes and give our deepest sympathies to the volunteers that have kept the FC running as a well-loved community facility.
Trevor Wing, Chief Executive Officer of Thornaby FC said: “I’m speechless. On behalf of Thornaby FC, I wish to thank Grain for the donation to help us recover from the fire which destroyed our community club.
“I’ve been volunteering here for 30 years. We, as volunteers, will put this donation towards the replacement of all our medical equipment including a new defibrillator, a fantastic offer of help. Thank you again.”
Grain Finance Director, Roland Barzegar said: “Thornaby is more than just a place of business for us; it is a vibrant community that we are proud to be a part of. We are committed to ensuring that our presence makes a positive difference. By making this donation, we hope to contribute to the restoration of the football ground, helping to rebuild what was lost and revitalizing the spirit of togetherness that defines Thornaby.”
